A Bump to Remember – Maternity Sessions
I could give you a list of reasons why you should invest in getting maternity portraits, and that list would go on for days. Instead I’ll tell you my personal story about why I wish I had.
My daughter is now 3 1/2 years old. 4 years ago my husband and I were still adjusting to the idea of having our first child. Maternity photography wasn’t as big of a deal as it is now-a-days, but it was getting there. I knew I wanted to get something to remember this special time in my life, but I was too self conscience to let someone else have control over my image.
You see, I had just started working out and losing weight right before I found out I was pregnant. I weighed my heaviest during pregnancy and that really did a number on my self esteem. Taking selfies in the bathroom of local stores and video’s of my baby kicking were the only momentos I had.
Until my husband convinced me to set my camera up and take one. Which is exactly what I did. The photo below is the only photo I took of myself that I loved. (This was in 2012 so please excuse the awesome editing. lol 🙂 ) Needless to say, I wish I was able to invest in maternity photos when I was pregnant with my daughter. If we’re blessed with a second I’ll be sure to make it happen!
Consider having photos done during your pregnancy! Wether you hire me, or another local photographer. Do it. You won’t regret it, I promise. 🙂
