Pre Consultation: What is it? | Mount Clemens Photographer

When you contact me inquiring for a session, the first thing I want to do to is set up an In-Person meeting (called an In-Person Pre Consultation.) We will set up a date for you and your significant other to meet with me and Alex (my husband and volunteer assistant ;)) This can be done at my in-home studio (located in Mount Clemens, MI) or at a local coffee shop, whichever you prefer. If you’re inquiring about a lifestyle newborn session, I will recommend the pre consultation to be at your home.

In-Person Pre Consultation:

During this meeting we will talk about what you want to get out of the session, ie: location, date, subjects involved, and the end result.

We will go over the session in detail: what you will be wearing, what poses you like, how many settings you want, etc.

A couples session (or engagement session) we will talk about your relationship, your interests and locations that hold meaning to you.

For a lifestyle newborn session we will take a tour of your home and find the best rooms with available light for the session. As well as things you DON’T like.

If this is for a maternity session, you can look through my available maternity gowns as well to choose one or two for your session, if nothing will work for you we will look at other gowns together and order one in time for your session!

You will also get a chance to look over all of my amazing products and choose what you would like to showcase in your home!

My ultimate goal with your session will be to create beautiful images that you would like to have on your walls, knowing which products you like will let me know how to plan your session!

Lastly, we will go over my product pricing guide, session contract and model release in detail. If you have any questions, now would be the perfect time to ask!

We will set up your session in my calendar this day as well, a signed contract and non-refundable retainer will be required to save your date!

Shortly before your session date I will contact you with any last minute details as well as driving directions and where we will be meeting!
